Gallery

The following is a gallery of artifacts I have produced to integrate technology in to my classroom. I have created these websites and projects in my introduction to technology in education course along with other courses through my education at Indiana University.

Service Learning Project: For this project, a partner and I were assigned a teacher to create a lesson for. Through this lesson, we had to     investigate different technology options for the standard and choose which one would work best given the teacher's technological experience and accessibility. We produced the lesson plan as well as made interactive aspects for the lesson, such as an instructional video, a Plickers interactive quiz, and a Google survey. We also created a website for this lesson as a whole in order to keep all of our artifacts and resources together.

Instructional Video: I have created the storyboard, ideas, and concepts for an instructional video covering Indiana Health Standards over how to avoid common childhood injuries. Through this project, I showcased my ability to edit and produce videos as well as sound effects, transitons, and voice overs of videos. These videos can also be shown in classrooms or instructors can assist students in making their own instructional video.

Symbalooo: Below is a Symbaloo of sources I have complied and believe would come in handy in the classroom. Symbaloo is a webmix of different web addresses all placed neatly together in tiles to ensure easy accessibility to the users. The sites I have decided to include in my symbaloo range from sites with games for students to resources for teachers to ways to keep track of the classroom and reach out to parents.

Picktochart: Picktochart is a site that allows teachers and students to create infographics for topics of all sorts. Through picktochart, I have displayed my skills that I have learned on digital design and creation of infographics and digital displays. Below is an infographic that I have created over digital footprints- a topic that I consider crucial to the curriculum of modern schools. I would use this infographic to show my students and introduce the topic of digital footprints prior to the lesson itself.

Smores: Smores is a website that allows teachers to create a weekly newsletter for their classroom. Through creating my own teacher newsletter, I have exhibited my knowledge of using communication technology as well as how to use technology to reach my students both in and out of the classroom. Smores is a great website as it allows users to create events, calendars, share photos, and even make individual posts- each sent out to parents of the classroom weekly.

Hour of code:

Through taking W200, or introduction to computers in education, at Indiana University, I have also completed the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a movement across the world to push for more education on computers, technology, and coding. Through the hour of code, many students spark an interest in these subjects by coding their own game, animation, or visual. Personally, I created my own game, and will push my students to set aside the time in the classroom to hopefully spark one's interest in a career field that is vastly expanding.
